Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary automation engineer on multi-discipline projects, ensuring alignment with client and project goals.
- Act as the project manager for projects focused solely on controls and instrumentation.
- Develop detailed technical specifications, bid documents, installation documents, and project reports.
- Design and adapt control systems to meet project-specific requirements.
- Develop PLC logic, HMI interfaces, system communications, and control panel layouts.
- Create project-specific electrical schematics and P&IDs based on proven designs.
- Provide electrical calculations and system analysis.
- Collaborate with other engineers, clients, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Travel to client sites as needed for plant reviews, system startup, troubleshooting, and project closeout.
- Offer tier 2/3 technical support for escalated issues, ensuring smooth operation of client systems.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience as a Controls/Automation Engineer with a proven track record of leading automation and control systems projects.
- Expertise in PLC and HMI development software and designing electrical schematics.
- Strong experience in reading and writing Ladder Logic and Structured Text.
- Knowledge of networking technologies, including IP addressing, port forwarding, and NAT.
- Proficient in creating PLC logic, HMI interfaces, control panel layouts, and system communications.
Bonus Qualifications (Preferred):
- Hands-on experience with major PLC ecosystems like Rockwell Studio 5000 and Codesys or transferable knowledge from Wago, Beckhoff, Schneider, or B&R platforms.
- Familiarity with HMI/User Interface ecosystems, such as Codesys WebVisu, Aveva Edge, or transferable knowledge from Ignition or Tatsoft.
- Experience in object-oriented programming for PLC/OT languages.
- Prior experience using SkyCad for electrical system design.
- Experience in continuous process automation systems is a strong plus.
