J&O Plastics is seeking an Automation Technician II to join our team.
As an Automation Technician II you are responsible for the set-up and programming of Fanuc robots to improve current automation process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity in the manufacturing of new and existing products. You will perform complete set-ups, troubleshoot issues, diagnose and repair equipment and adjust the equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work independently to set up and program Fanuc robots.
- Support production by responding to support calls for automation equipment.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks to the automation equipment.
- Work with other techs and engineers to accomplish automation team goals.
- Learn how the automation systems work within the company and give input for improvements.
- Assist in building new equipment or developing new technologies.
- Follow instructions and best practice guidelines.
- Provide feedback on how to better improve equipment and operations.
- Coach and mentor other members of the automation team.
Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma. College degree preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years with robotic systems (preferably Fanuc 6-axis robots).
- Ability to understand robotic programming and how an entire automation system works together: robots, mechanical equipment, pneumatic components and electrical components.
- Ability to take a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and solving issues on the manufacturing floor.
- Experience with hand tools and basic metal cutting machinery.
- Able to communicate within the automation team and external departments.
- On occasion, drive forklifts to move equipment.
