Your Role:
As an Automation Technician, youll ensure the efficiency and reliability of automated systems critical to our operations. This role requires advanced skills in Allen Bradley PLCs, Ladder Logic programming, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming: Design, develop, and optimize programs using Allen Bradley systems, with a focus on Ladder Logic.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC-controlled systems to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- System Updates: Perform updates, modifications, and enhancements to automation systems.
- Collaboration: Partner with maintenance and operations teams to implement and sustain control system improvements.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and apply electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative measures to maintain peak performance.
- Integration: Incorporate new automation technologies and equipment into existing systems.
- Training: Provide training and technical support to plant personnel on automated systems.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Certifications/Experience: Journeyman-level certification in the electrical field or equivalent hands-on expertise.
- Automation Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming, particularly Ladder Logic.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in industrial automation, ideally in manufacturing or energy sectors.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, wiring, and diagnostic tools.
- Documentation Proficiency: Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Hands-On Knowledge: Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other automation tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with additional platforms like Siemens or Modicon.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards for industrial environments.
- Experience in energy, refining, or ethanol production industries.
Working Conditions:
- Plant-based role requiring occasional on-call responsibilities for urgent troubleshooting.
- Work in a fast-paced industrial setting, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
