Hiring! Automotive Parts Counter Person

Fulltime: 7:30 am 5:30 pm, Mon Fri, every other Saturday.

Pay rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience.

Location: Wooster, OH

Summary:

The Parts Counter person will have a strong understanding of automotive parts, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assisting customers in selecting the correct parts, processing orders, maintaining inventory, and providing expert advice to ensure customer satisfaction. To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized, have great time management skills, be a self-starter, and have prior auto repair experience.

What you will do:

• Greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Assist customers in identifying and locating the right parts.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations based on customer needs and vehicle specifications.
• Professionally manage customer inquires in person and by phone.
• Resolve customer issues/complaints courteously.
• Process orders accurately and quickly.
• Utilize point-of-sale (POS) systems to complete transactions.
• Upsell and cross-sell related parts and accessories.
• Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct stock checks.
• Receive, unpack, and store incoming parts and supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and notify management of low inventory or specific part requirements.
• Ensure the parts counter and storage areas are organized and clean.
• Stay updated on auto industry trends, new products, and technical information.
• Understand and interpret parts catalogs, both electronic and printed.
• Participate in ongoing training and development progress to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.

What you will need:

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in automotive parts sales or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive systems and parts is essential.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using computers and POS systems.
• Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment as needed.
• Some post-secondary automotive training and dealer or large facility experience ASE certification is a plus.
• Maintain an unrestricted drivers license and clean driving record.

About Us:

We are five dealerships servicing the Sandusky, Vermilion, and Norwalk area.
