- Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
- Informs customers of companion part requirements, specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
- Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
- Provides a high level of service to internal and external customers.
- Pulls and fills orders from stock.
- Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
- Follows up on back-ordered parts.
- Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
- Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
- Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices and special-order parts.
- Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
- Participates in all training programs that are made available.
- Keeps current on new products and product updates.
- Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned.Qualifications:
- Must have 3+ years Parts counter person experience (dealership preferred).
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Capability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions.
- Experience with auto parts sales (preferred)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- High level of detail orientation and accuracy while having the ability to multi-task, handle frequent interruptions, and shifting priorities.
- Proven experience working alone and within a team environment.
- Familiarity with using DMS and being able to utilize other computer programs as needed.
- This position will require you to move around the dealership and is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting.
