Estimators Salary ranges from $52,000 to $70,000Hours M-F 6:30am-3:30pm, weekends off!Position Overview: An Automotive Repair Estimator is responsible for evaluating the damage to vehicles and estimating the cost of repairs. The role involves working closely with our technicians and service departments to determine repair costs, parts, labor, and time needed for vehicle restoration. The estimator ensures accurate, timely, and detailed estimates, aiming to provide a high level of customer service and satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:
  • Damage Assessment & Estimates:
    • Inspect damaged vehicles to assess the extent of the repairs needed.
    • Create accurate, detailed repair estimates based on the damage assessment and required OEM procedures.
    • Use CCC estimating software to generate and calculate the cost of repairs, including parts, labor, and paint.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • No customer interaction for this role, we have a separate team to communicate repair costs and timeline with our customers.
  • Insurance Claims Management:
    • Submit Request for inspection of vehicle by Insurance company via email or website after full damage assessment is completed.
    • No further interaction with Insurance company beyond submission as we have a Claims Negotiator who settles all claims
  • Parts and Labor Coordination:
    • Identify and order necessary parts for repairs and ensure their availability. We are an OE ONLY facility regardless of year, make, and model.
    • Print all required OE documentation and attach to Work Order so technicians can remain efficient
    • Ensure repair work follows manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Document file with detailed record of estimate, photos, sublet quotes, and communications by noting file once damage assessment is completed
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure that all damage repair needed is written and supported by documentation per manufacturer specifications and photos
    • Create PO's and send vehicle information to service departments to coordinate sublet repairs
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up to date with the latest automotive repair techniques, tools, and technology.
    • Regularly review and improve estimating processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or vocational training in automotive technology preferred).
    • Certification in automotive repair or related field (e.g., I-CAR, ASE certifications) is a plus.
    • Proven experience in automotive repair estimating or a similar role (e.g., collision estimating, auto body repair, insurance damage appraiser).
    • Proficiency in CCC Estimating and general computer skills.
    • Knowledge of automotive repair processes, parts, and procedures.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimates.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Valid Driver's License
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to inspect vehicles in various conditions, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
    Working Conditions:
    • Primarily based in a repair shop environment.
    • Some outdoor work may be required when inspecting vehicles.
    • Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:30pm
