Chipton-Ross is seeking 13 Aviation Maintenance Technicians for a contract opportunity in Jacksonville, FL.*This position is 100% ONSITE .RESPONSIBILITIES: The professionals chosen to fill these positions will join our Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and Component Operations organization, working as part of a team in support of our key programs such as military commercial derivatives, fighter aircraft and aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul. The candidates chosen will be responsible for adherence to established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance. To ensure we continue to support our customers, we are looking for skilled aircraft maintenance professionals to join our team. Regular and predicted attendance is required.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:o Identify if a fastener is a rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock, bolt or lock bolto Read and interpret blueprints, process data sheets & maintenance instruction manualso Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning, corrosion prevention and control, polish or dry wash taskso Knowledge of common fastener sizes and correct cutting tools for removal and installation processeso Remove and reinstall access panels and fairings. Remove damaged screws without damaging surrounding structureo Ability to safety wire and install cotter pinso Availability to work both first and second shift.o Ability to apply aircraft finishes (primer and paint), Alodine, and sealantso Ability to close tolerance drill within .001 & Ability to precision measure within .0005 in metallic and composite structures.o Perform structural repairs and modifications on strike fighters, commercial derivative aircraft, and flight control componentso Utilize measuring tools such as micrometer, dial caliper, grip gauges, feeler gauge, depth gauge, trimic, and bore gageso Fabricate, locate, trim, drill/ream, and assemble metallic and composite components. Makes major/minor modification to aircraft skins and other structural components. Installs rivets, blind fasteners, hiloks, etc in metallic and composite structures.o Ability to properly utilize Assembly Jigs (AJ), Repair Equipment (RE), and other similar fixed tooling to locate parts, trim, shim, final drill, debur, and build components to meet Blueprint requirementso Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, work packages and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales in conjunction with the program leads and managerso Knowledge/ability to read and comprehend Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives and Service Bulletins to effective aircrafto Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the program lead and managerADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:o Strive for an efficient work effort in all assigned taskso Strive for First Time Quality on all assigned worko Follow the guidance and direction from lead, and senior Subject Matter Experts (SME)o Execute all duties while wearing required safety equipmento Complete required company and specific statement of work training requirementso Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.o Demonstrate a safe work ethico Perform detailed tool inventories dailyo Communicate using basic computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office as needed to complete essential job requirementso Contribute positively to our open and honest reporting cultureo Report all incidents and occurrences in the client Safety Management System.o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedureso Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness within assigned work areas, Clean as You Goo Contribute to continuous improvement initiativeso Be flexible to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to customero Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program or employee(s)o Be an effective team member displaying appropriate behaviors including Equity, Diversity and InclusionHARD REQUIREMENTS:If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment. REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:o 3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic (Experience in either commercial or defense or relevant trade apprenticeship would be considered)o 3+ years' experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics and specificationso Ability to close tolerance drill within .001 & Ability to precision measure within .0005 in metallic and composite structures.o Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office SuiteDESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: o FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant is desirableo Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environment processes (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH)EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of industry or military experience. FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT WORK HOURS: Candidates must be available to work both 1st and 2nd shift.FIRST: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM SECOND: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PMMISCELLANEOUS:Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.
