AVP Casualty Underwriter - jcw llc : Job Details

JCW is currently working on behalf of a well-respected and growing reinsurer in the NYC area. In this role, youd be reporting directly to the SVP head of US Casualty to underwrite and analyze casualty insurance products.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite a portfolio of casualty insurance business to meet risk and return objectives.
• Manage MGA relationships to achieve profitability targets and performance metrics.
• Evaluate individual submissions, including product, business plan, historical performance, operations, deal structure, and management team.
• Collaborate with US and London brokers to generate new business opportunities and renew or expand existing accounts.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Lloyd's market structure.
• Stay informed about industry trends and developments, providing insights on the casualty insurance market.
• Report on portfolio performance for assigned lines of business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting, preferably in casualty lines within program, reinsurance, or direct environments.
• Understanding of portfolio management in program underwriting.
