SUMMARY The YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a dynamic, mission-driven operational leader for the District Executive position that will help shape the organization's long-term strategy, deliver on program commitments, nurture relationships with key stakeholders, and empower a diverse leadership team to broaden impact in the District and community. The District Executive oversees the operational aspects of 6 to 7 branches, ensuring top-notch program services and driving revenue growth for membership and program offerings. This role requires an inspirational leader who is ambitious to help grow and scale the organization regionally. The District Executive will be responsible for motivating, communicating, and influencing at all levels, while maintaining the highest levels of integrity, honesty, and ethical standards. Hiring Range: $130,000 - $150,000/annually DOE Responsibilities Staff Management: Hire, orient, supervise, and support assigned staff by coaching, providing overall direction, performance management, and professional development. Operational Growth: Develop, supervise, and monitor the operational growth plan of assigned branches by ensuring the execution of the membership/participant growth and experience plan, including recruitment, retention, and program expansion as defined by the Centers of Excellence (CoE). Volunteer Development: Ensure the development of active, engaged, and diverse volunteers for branch boards and advisory groups. Clarify and reinforce roles and responsibilities among corporate boards, management, advisory boards, staff, and volunteers. Program Quality: Ensure delivery of consistent, safe, and high-quality branch programs focusing on equity and justice for all through whole-person health as defined by the CoE. Community Engagement: Represent and promote the Y in local communities, especially among marginalized and under-represented groups. Develop positive working relationships with other organizations, school districts, businesses, and governmental agencies. Communication: Create clear lines of communication and consistency throughout the district and between assigned branches and Association leadership. Financial Management: Develop and oversee the financial plan of assigned branches to ensure resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives in alignment with the CoE. Ensure operating budgets meet or exceed targets. Financial Development: Work in partnership with the Centers of Excellence and district executives to execute the financial development strategy. Strategic Planning: Oversee the collective and individual branch strategic planning efforts of the district. Marketing & Communication: Partner with Membership Experience CoE to ensure consistent marketing and communication plans are in place for the district. Facility Maintenance: Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment. Association Support: Serve as a member of assigned Association, branch groups, and committees to support the overall objectives of the Association. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TRAVEL Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a multi-branch or multi-site environment. Demonstrated ability to manage operational growth and drive revenue through effective membership and program strategies. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion. High standards of integrity, honesty, and ethics. Relevant professional experience and/or bachelor's degree in business administration, human services or related field. Ten or more years of experience in a variety of YMCA operations or related activities including program development, financial development, budgeting and financial management, membership, volunteer development and staff management. Proven successful experience with board development, financial development and broadening an organization's reach into underserved communities. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Master's degree YMCA Multi-Team or Organizational Leader certification Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Experience with anti-racism practices and coalition building. Ability to speak any language in addition to English.
