Summary: The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Facility Operations & Support Services assumes responsibility for the overall management of assigned departments including Engineering and Plant Services, Environmental Services, Food Services, Safety and Security Services, Emergency Management and Reception Services. Works with direct reports to maintain budgets and department standards. The AVP maintains code libraries and keeps abreast of code changes and their impact on the hospital. This position is also responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the quality of services provided by the departments and implements appropriate safety programs. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Responsibilities: 1. Provides a regional-level support and supervision to the Directors of Operations & Support Services. 2. Assists in coverage and strategizes support staffing during emergent situations. 3.Oversees the regional budget planning process for the Facilities & Support Services Division. 4. Travels to the local hospitals within the regional span of control on a regular basis to attend staff meetings, EOC Committee Meetings and periodic touchpoint / performance review meetings with the Director of Operations. 5. Assumes the role of regional subject matter expert (SME) for specified Facilities Division operations, working with other regional counterparts to assure that quality, regulatory and performance standards are being met throughout the Nuvance Health System. 6. Assures that the Facilities and Support Services departments adhere to all recognized Quality Standards, and is in compliance with established department/hospital policies, rules and regulations. 7. Develops a written plan that identifies measurable elements (indicators) of quality and the process of collecting, monitoring and correcting conditions measured by these elements. 8. Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and/or employees by being aware of the safety and health policies of the hospital and adhering to and enhancing these policies via the identification/reporting/correcting of unsafe conditions. 9. Assures that the day-to-day operations of assigned departments are in compliance, at all times with relevant regulatory agencies, by maintaining established standards and ensuring appropriate follow up is taken. 10. Assumes responsibility for human resource management within all departments under span of control, resulting in high quality services and positive associate relations. 11. Assumes responsibility for effective fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of resources. 12. Assumes responsibility for communication within the department to ensure that information is shared for effective operations and to promote positive associate relations. 13.
