Must have valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States of American, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or territory of the United StatesTuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, a JCAHO accredited health center, provides services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. The hospital was constructed in 1975 with a bed capacity of 73. Services provided to the community include comprehensive inpatient/outpatient emergency services, dental and ophthalmology services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery and urological procedures. The Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation is located in Northwestern Arizona on the land known as the Colorado Plateau. This semi-desert landscape varies in elevation from 4,400 in the Little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa. The unique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich environment. The Native American tribes located and served here are the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute. This mixture along with Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employees of the hospital and school systems make a pleasantly diverse community. The staff of medical providers includes surgeons, general medical officers, internal medicine, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists. Dental staff includes general dentists, endodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pediatric dentists, dental assistants and hygienists. The nursing staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, community health nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, CRNA, and community health medics.POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides specialist nursing advice and support to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals following diagnosis and through all stages of treatment. The incumbent is responsible for providing medical oncology and other infusion treatments and education regarding these treatments to patients with cancer, ensuring continuity of evidence-based nursing care for patients undergoing chemotherapy, assessing health, health related and nursing needs of patients, their families, and other caregivers by identifying and initiating appropriate steps for effective care.EXPERIENCE: The incumbent with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree. Must have two (2) years practice experience as a nurse in the acute care and/or ambulatory care setting including three (3) years of oncology nursing experience Must have hands-on experience in all routes of infusion therapy, including peripheral lines, PICCs, implanted ports and other central venous access and different chemotherapy regimenCERTIFICATION: Must maintain and have a current and valid BLS, ACLS Certification by the American Heart Association. Must have ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Provider Card. Must have valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or territory of the United StatesThe hourly rate includes all associated costs including, but not limited to, travel, transportation, lodging, etc. No additional amounts will be paid by TCRHCC to Contractor for overtime, on-call or hours worked during the weekends or on holidays. Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with all labor laws including but not limited to the Fair Labor Standards Act with respect to payment of providers assigned to TCRHCC.36
