Job Description and Responsibilities:Willow Valley Communities is hiring a Baker/Cake Decorator to measure, mix, and bake ingredients using standardized recipes to produce items such as: breads, rolls, cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, or other baked goods. Demonstrates creativity, artistic ability, and attention to detail and strong customer service skills. Expertly designs and decorates cakes for all occasions (where applicable).

Wage:
- $21.00/hr+ based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Procures ingredients from storage areas and utilizes standardized recipes to prepare baked goods.
- Accurately measures ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings or icings, using scales or graduated containers.
- Rolls, kneads, cuts or shapes dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies or other products.
- Accurately measures and combines ingredients, using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment.
- Expertly applies and decorates baked goods with glazes, icing or other toppings.
- Adapts the quantity of ingredients to match the amount of items to be baked and modifies recipes to meet quality standards.
- Takes inventory of baking and decorating supplies and orders new stock as needed.
- Develops new recipes as required.
- Takes customers cake orders, recording instructions and special requests, and provides suitable recommendations on cake decorations and designs for specialty cakes. Is efficient, friendly and focused on food quality and customer satisfaction. (where applicable).
- Produces a variety of icing, frosting, and cake fillings based on cake type and customer preferences. (where applicable).
- Ensures that products are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Responsible to assure proper records are maintained for food production, food safety and ordering.
- Maintains a cleaning schedule and assures work areas are kept clean and sanitary.
- Practices the proper operation of equipment to ensure personal safety and avoid damage to equipment.
- Regularly interacts with Residents and visitors while completing daily job duties.
- Follows Willow Valleys HACCP plan and all related food safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven baking and cake decorating experience.
- Maintains a professional, neat and clean appearance and exhibits a positive attitude, engaging personality, enthusiasm and energy.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workspace that is highly visible to Residents and other visitors to the community.
