Baker - Ramona Susan's Bake Shop : Job Details

Ramona Susan's Bake Shop is your neighborhood bakery. We focus on classic, homey desserts baked with consistency and we strive to offer better customer service than our competitors. We make 95% of the menu in-house in a kitchen that is under 300 square feet. (We do have plans to expand) This position is part of a small team. The hybrid style job and small space requires everyone on the team to bounce between BOH and FOH tasks. Having barista experience is helpful but not required. Baking and decorating experience required.

When responding please confirm you have availability M-F from 7am-8:30pm and if you'd prefer 4x 10 hour shifts or 5x 8 hour shifts. There is some flexibility in the schedule but we do prefer set schedules. 2 nights a week will be closing shifts. Most weekends off except when covering shifts unless you prefer weekend shifts.

FOH Basics:

-Help customers navigate our menu, take their order, operate the POS system, pack their order, make beverages and ensure they have everything they want/need before walking away.-Pack online orders and work with a touch screen POS to update the status of orders.-Typical sales counter side work like folding boxes, packing to-go orders, dishes, sweeping and moping, wiping down tables, taking out trash, watering plants, etc.-Help monitor stock of dry goods, paper products, baked items for sale, beverage levels and more.-Be friendly to people who may annoy youBOH Basics:

- Prepare a wide variety of baked goods, including pretzels, pastries, cakes, cupcakes and cookies using traditional baking techniques and ingredients. 95% of our menu is scratch made.- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety standards and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and in good working order.- Operate a variety of kitchen tools, including knives, mixers, and ovens, to prepare and package baked goods for sale or delivery.- Ensure that all baked goods meet our high standards of quality, presentation, and taste.- Decorating cakes with SM buttercream, American buttercream, cream cheese frosting and whipped cream. We make these frostings in house and familiarity with their preparation is an advantage.

Requirements:- Ability to carry things up and down stairs- Experience with scratch baking, preferably in a coffee shop or bakery setting.- Strong knowledge of food preparation and production techniques, including baking and pastry-making.- Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices, including FIFO.- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication.- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality baked goods.- Comfortable working independently as portions of your shifts are solitary.- Ability to work flexible hours when coworkers require time off.

By joining the team you automatically qualify for our pre-set paid vacations which occur the first week of the year and the first week of July. The entire store is closed and everyone is paid their usual hours. Additionally, earned sick leave begins accruing immediately. Closed Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Christmas.

Electronic tips are pooled by hour and average and extra $75-125/week. Cash tips are also pooled but are more unpredictable.
