MGP Ingredients is looking for a Bakery Intern for our Research and Development team in Atchison, KS. We are looking for an intern for the Summer and Fall Semester. This person will work with the team to design, conduct and analyze experiments with plant-based and bakery products. You will be assigned to projects that match your educational background and career interests, contributing to problem-solving and providing the department with tangible solutions to enhance product development and efficiency. What will you do?

  • Support formulation and testing in bakery applications (e.g. bread, cookies, and cakes).
  • Assist in ingredient functionality assessments and recipe adjustments.
  • Conduct quality control and sensory analysis to help optimize recipes.
What do you need to bring to the table?
  • Have at least 2 years of study in Food Science, Grain Science, Chemistry or related technical field.
  • Lab analysis training- minimum of 2 lab courses.
  • General lab tasks such as pipetting, use of scales, analytical techniques.
  • Knowledge in cooking.
