This role includes assisting with the production and presentation of bakery items, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The Bakery Specialist contributes to achieving sales and margin goals through the proper execution of bakery procedures and product merchandising.Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Requirements:

• Engages with customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, shares product information, and assists in locating products throughout the store. Seeks opportunities to exceed customer expectations and enhance the customer experience.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assists in the daily production and preparation of bakery items such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies, following established recipes and guidelines.
• Ensures that all bakery products meet quality and freshness standards, including proper rotation and storage to minimize waste and ensure maximum freshness.
• Responsible for merchandising bakery displays, ensuring all products are stocked, attractively presented, and clearly labeled.
• Provides knowledgeable recommendations and suggestions to customers, offering excellent customer service in selecting bakery items.
• Ensures compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of food products, equipment, and tools.
• Assists in taking special orders and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Monitors inventory levels and communicates replenishment needs to the Bakery Manager to ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
• Assists with department cleanliness, including cleaning and maintaining bakery equipment, work areas, and storage spaces according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Collaborates with team members and management to achieve department goals, including sales targets and margin objectives.
• Participates in department meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new products, processes, and store initiatives.
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Skills to exercise good judgment at all times.Knowledge of English (Preferred) This is a customer service-driven position. Should have the ability to speak, read, and understand English.Physical DemandsThis position works at a Heavy level. Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands and wrists to handle, grasp, and feel objects. Required to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds. May occasionally need to bend, stoop, kneel, or reach at/above/below shoulder level.Work Environment Work occurs in a grocery store environment which includes surfaces that may be wet and slippery, moderate noise levels, and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler and freezer.
