Job Description :

A public accounting firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their team as their new Senior Tax Manager. In this role, the Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for assisting a variety of financial services-focused clients in solving their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities The Senior Tax Manager will:

  • Provide tax compliance, provision, and advisory services to partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations for a variety of clients in the banking, investments, asset management, and capital markets industries
  • Plan, budget, and lead the overall execution of assigned client engagements
  • Supervise and review the work of other tax staff on large and complex tax engagements
  • Keep firm partners and client management informed on the progress of the engagement as well as any significant issues discovered that need resolution
  • Research tax issues that may impact clients' federal, state, and local tax planning projects and business transactions, and provide appropriate solutions
  • Advise clients on tax structuring affairs (both domestic and global) while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners
  • Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS and other state and local tax authorities, and represent clients at any potential tax audits
  • Participate in client proposals and other new business development activities
  • Complete other tasks, as assigned
Qualifications
  • 9+ years of Tax Compliance & Advisory experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Taxation, and/or a related field
  • Previous experience in a Professional Services and/or Tax Consulting role/setting
  • CPA or parts passed
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the tax issues affecting either the Domestic and/or International Banking industries
  • Intimate knowledge of Public Accounting practices
  • Comprehensive technical skills in FAS 109, FIN 48, tax provision preparation audit and review, and corporate and partnership tax compliance
  • Work knowledge of CCH Axcess tax software and other related tax technologies, including RIA Checkpoint and BNA
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Solid analytical and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
