Barista - Bar Vinazo : Job Details

Brooklyn Spanish Wine Bar seeks a Barista Compensation range: $15-$17/hour + tips

Bar Vinazo, a Spanish wine bar in Park Slope, Brooklyn seeks experienced Barista to join our new coffee program. This 70 seat wine bar, including a backyard, is looking for someone passionate about coffee and hospitality. The ideal candidate has excellent service and communication skills and is highly motivated. Candidates must be able to display a sense of urgency and be comfortable managing coffee service on their own and overseeing the coffee program operations on a daily basis.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, engaging and friendly environment to all
• Make and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee and teas, as well as food products
• Provide customers with assistance in ordering as well as answering questions
• Take payments (cash, card, mobile)
• Oversee the daily operations and ensure coffee service runs smoothly
• Ensure equipment is operating properly and let manager know of any issues
• Restocking supplies and equipment
• Help maintain and keep all serving, food & beverage preparation and common areas sanitary and clean
• Follow all health and safety guidelines and procedures

Job Requirements

• 1-2 years of Barista experience
• Existing knowledge of coffee and espresso machines
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to have an outgoing, friendly disposition for guest relations
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions (i.e. gluten-free, vegan, food allergies, etc)
• Ability to work alone
• Will be exposed to various environmental conditions such as cold due to refrigeration and heat due to hot surfaces or coffee machines
• Exposure to some chemicals
• Able to lift and carry 40 lbs
• Ability to sit, stand and bend would be required
• DOH Food Handlers card
