JOB TITLE:BaristaDEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB:Campus Grounds, Broussard Family Library and Learning Commons, BL 201, FVCC Kalispell CampusELIGIBILITY:Open to all current FVCC StudentsSTART DATE:This position will start Fall Semester 2024LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:Academic Calendar Year2024/2025PAY RANGE:$14.00 to $15.00 per hour depending on experienceWORK SCHEDULE:Works between Monday and Friday, flexible scheduling between 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., and may work up to 19 hours per weekDRESS CODE:Casual wear with appropriate coveragePOSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:Supports the Common Grounds and SupervisorPOSITION DUTIES:Under minimum supervision:* Greets and welcomes Campus Grounds customers and offers assistance* Takes and prepares beverage orders* Performs cashier functions* Cleans espresso machine and restocks supplies* Cleans and maintains general cleanliness for coffee station work area and common area* May perform other like dutiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and* Must be able to pass a criminal background check if hired for closing-shift* Ability to work with a minimal level of supervision as well as in a team environment, and* Ability to follow directions and procedures, and* Ability to consistently provide quality customer service to students, faculty, staff and the public, and* Ability to problem-solving, follow directions, and be self-motivated, and* Possesses a cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, students and the publicPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Previous cashiering experience* Previous Barista experienceSTUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT:Communication skills, critical thinking, planning, collaboration, customer service, professionalismPREDICTED OUTCOME:Critical thinking, collaboration, communicating effectively, customer service, professionalismSTUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:* Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.* Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.* Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.* Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATIONS, REFERENCE CHECKS, AND CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS: Prior to offers of student employment, FVCC may conduct thorough employment verifications and reference checks and may contact organizations and individuals not listed on an applicant's application or resume.
