BartenderThe Bartender reports to the Restaurant Manager on duty and is the primary resource to ensure each guest receives a Gold Standard bar experience on every visit.
ResponsibilitiesPeople- Greet guests with a smile! Responsible for welcoming new and repeat guests every visit
- Build a rapport with regular guests to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Promote a fun and positive work environment
- Teamwork! Must be able to work with others on the line and communicate effectively with cooks and managers in a busy restaurant environment
Operations- Learn/know drink recipes (standard bar and Smashburger signature)
- Verify identification and age requirements of guests before serving guests
- Adhere to local and state liquor laws -Adhere to our company alcohol service policies
- Maintain ABC certification card
- Mix and serve drinks following set standard recipes
- Ensures that drinks are poured accurately and delivered promptly
- Be knowledgeable of all menu items so you can make meal suggestions and answer questions
- Verify each guest order for accuracy when entering into the POS and complete POS transactions
- Follow tab management, cash handling and payment collection procedures (balance cash drawers and receipts at the end of a shift)
- Visit guests after food delivery to ensure guests have everything they need (refills, condiments, etc.) and that their experience has been perfect
- Encourage guests to complete surveys upon each visit
- Foster and value a safe work environment by following all personal and food safety and security standards
- Have pride in keeping floors, counters, dining area and restrooms clean at all times
- Ability to listen, communicate and work well with others in a busy restaurant environment
- Values integrity and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching
- Serve guests safely and responsibility with the highest integrity
Profit- Follow company cash policies to ensure minimal losses through theft or shortages
- Upsell food items to all guests ordering
- Follow company order accuracy procedures to ensure a happy guest and minimize waste
Sales- Adhere to all active marketing promotions
Smashburger Guest Service Expert Requirements- Must be 21years old
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and to move and lift boxes of food/ supplies up to 60 lbs.
- Show up on time to work variable hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Adhere to Smashburger uniform policy
- Must successfully complete Smashburger training program
- Ability to follow all guidelines and procedures set forth by Smashburger, local, state, and federal employment regulations
- Must be able to produce authorized U.S. work documents; Smashburger participates in E-verify
This position requires the individual to be vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine NYC Public mandate by September 13, 2021 unless the individual can prove a qualifying exemption.
