Job Summary:Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartender will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that are consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartenders will also be responsible for making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the recipe and delivering high quality food and drinks in a clean and friendly environment.
Essential Functions- General knowledge of cocktail crafting and mixology fundamentals
- Curate guests' bar experience by making recommendations
- Knowledge of all beverages to include liquors, wines, and beers
- Serve guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service
- Knowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Oxbow Bar & Grill
- Have necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, bar tools, etc.
- Ability to pair wines with meals
- Understanding that the bar serves full food & drink menu and must be prepared to serve full coursed and/or shared meals to guests
- Light food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot
- Knowledge of all menu items to include prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments
- Collect and process payment for food and beverages served
- Follow standard TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol
- Be aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and any items that are running low
- Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time of any issues that may affect the guest experience
- Follow appropriate cash handling procedures as established by Accounting, and must be able to explain shortages and overages
- Maintain a clean and orderly bar area
- Clean glasses, utensils, coolers, and bar equipment
- Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.
Qualification StandardsEducation & Experience- High School diploma or higher
- Previous hospitality experience required
- Minimum 2-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant preferable in the Southwest, Florida area
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be always aware that it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
