Pangea Reptile is expanding their Food Production Department and has an immediate opening for a FULL-TIME candidate to join our Batch Maker team.

We have recently expanded into a 34,000 square foot facility to keep up with the demand for our products and geckos located just inside Zeeland, MI.

We are looking for an individual who takes pride in the work they produce, desires to be a long-term member of a team, and is detail oriented.

Required: Some Weekends and Holidays

Schedule: TRAINING SHIFT; TRANSITION TO PRIMARY SHIFT AFTER COMPLETION OF TRAINING 1st Shift Training: M-Th 8am to 6pm (4 – 10hr shifts)

2nd Shift Primary: M-F 3pm to 11pm

Job Summary: As a Batch Maker, you will play a crucial role in the production process by preparing and mixing raw materials according to specified recipes. This position begins with 1st shift training to ensure you gain the necessary skills and knowledge, after which you will transition to the 2nd shift for regular duties.

The Batch Maker is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending the equipment that blends, mixes, and cooks ingredients during the manufacturing process of Pangea Complete Crested Gecko Diet. The Batch Maker reads instructions and prepares products according to prescribed formulas. Maintains an extremely clean and sterile workplace.

Training (1st Shift):

Learn to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for batch preparation.

Understand safety protocols and quality control measures.

Familiarize yourself with equipment and tools used in batch production.

Assist experienced batch makers in preparing batches under supervision.

Batch Preparation (2nd Shift):

Accurately measure and mix raw materials based on production recipes.

Operate and maintain mixing and processing equipment.

Monitor batch quality throughout the mixing process to ensure compliance with specifications.

Document production data and maintain accurate records.

Essential Job Functions:

Mix, blend, and prepare food products for packaging

Read and interpret recipes

Ensure all ingredients and formulas are correct

Clean and sanitize utensils and work surfaces

Clean and prepare equipment

Operate equipment

Record batches and oversees lot number distribution

Works with Quality Control and Production

Manages time and inventory

Trains new Batch Makers as necessary
