Become our second software engineer and help us become the #1 AI enabled Shopify app - UpsellPlus : Job Details

We increase the average basket size for the largest Shopify merchants with product recommendations. Our focus is to become the #1 best AI enabled team and product in the 16,000 app strong Shopify ecosystem.

We're looking for a Full Stack software engineer to build out this next version of the product. Our dream hire has experience with AI-powered automation, full-stack development, and Shopify ecosystem expertise.

Your first 30-45 days you'll work on the existing product to get an understanding of where we're at. Then we'll dive deep into the possibilities of AI for our product. You will barely have any meetings and can work on your own time. You will be judged by your output, not the time spent working. You have experience with:

• Shopify app development and API's
• API's from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, or whatever model you want to use
• Node.js, React, Firebase
• async and remote work
• using AI to automate and increase the amount of work you can do (Cursor, Devin,...)
• Git and code collaboration best practices (branching, PR reviews, atomic commits)
• Writing clean, maintainable code that integrates well into an existing system without introducing instability. You know how to improve code quality while keeping changes minimal and non-disruptive.

We have a team of six full-time employees. We are all remote and fully async. We are power users of Slack and Zapier, ChatGPT, Cursor and Devin.

You need to be able to QA your own work. We would applaud you if you use AI for this. Bonus points if you know how to build and maintain an automated testing system. We value engineers who bring in knowledge we don't already have, especially in AI automation and efficiency improvements. You're not just executing tasks—we want someone who helps us work smarter, not just harder.
