Description 7pm-7:30am / Full Time / 36 Hours ResponsibilitiesWe're seeking a Registered Nurse, Bed Control and Transfer Service Coordinator responsible for managing patient bed placement and the utilization of beds in accordance with established standards and policies. This individual:
- Determines patient priority and the ability to transfer patients between units when requested beds exceed available beds.
- Acts as a liaison for physicians and hospitals to facilitate the transfer of patients into the institution.
- Supervises staff and manages employee performance. Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.
- Keeps abreast of and demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of the ethical and legal ramifications related to patient placement and utilization of beds.
- Uses advanced clinical knowledge to direct proper patient placement and utilization of beds in accordance with established standards and policies.
- Communicates patients' needs through appropriate verbal and written communications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Three years of recent (within the past five years) nursing experience that includes supervision and patient bed placement.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider and ACLS certifications required.
