Position Type: Non-Certified Student Support ServicesDate Posted: 1/14/2025Location: Student and Family Engagement DepartmentDistrict: Waterford School DistrictPosition: Behavior Support Specialist (10 month position) Location: Multiple Buildings Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates and/or Bachelor's Degree recommended; or equivalent applicable experience
  • Experience with behavior intervention techniques
  • Trained in or willing to be trained in non-violent crisis interventions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve
Essential Functions:
  • Able to assist with the development and implementation of classroom and individual behavior plans
  • Able to deescalate student who are in a state of crisis
  • Meet with students whose behavior warrants intervention and develop individualized behavior tracking and intervention programs
  • Work with staff on issues such as: crisis intervention, learning and collaboration issues, and factors that can affect development and implementation of interventions
  • Maintain timely and accurate records and files consistent with department policies and procedures
  • Able to provide one on one support to students
  • Able to provide group support to students
  • Maintains strong communication with families and staff
