JOB DESCRIPTION: BEHAVIORAL TECHNICIAN

General Statement of Job: Follows the direction of behavioral specialists and works collaboratively with other behavior team members, school counselors, social workers, SAPs, and teachers to ensure behavior interventions are being implemented with fidelity (as outlined on behavior intervention plans), collect behavioral data, and support students with challenging behaviors.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills: Bachelor's in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Teaching or other related field required, and experience working with children with behavioral problems.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

* Demonstrates an understanding of the ISS District MTSS Behavior Model and is able to coach

teachers and staff on following with fidelity.

* Provide in the moment coaching in the classroom to model behavior supports identified on the students Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).

* Observes students in various settings, collects and graphs behavior data to provide to behavior specialists.

* Assists with identification of antecedent triggers for Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA).

* Establishes rapport and collaborate with staff, students and parents.

* Provides behavior data collected to specialists to write behavior intervention plans.

* Models behavior strategies/interventions/techniques for teachers and students in the classroom.

* Creates visual tools/reinforcement materials for teachers and students- as outlined on BIPs.

* Completes forced choice surveys to accurately identify motivating and meaningful incentives for students.

* Coaches teachers to ensure the skills that are taught and modeled are being carried over into the classroom.

* Communicates issues with fidelity to behavior specialists immediately.

* Utilizes behavior tracking forms- as identified by behavior specialists.

* Understands progress monitoring of behavior and able to coach staff on fidelity of use.

* Attends monthly behavior team meetings.

* Audits RtI Stored to ensure behavior data is being uploaded accurately for each behavior cycle.

* Assist with Second Step inventory each school year.

* Ability to travel between multiple school sites and manage time effectively to ensure all student/staff needs are met.

* Other duties as assigned.
