For more than fifty years, Cornerstone has been responsive to meeting the needs of the communities in which we serve with a continued emphasis on the underserved and those without access to health care regardless of race, economic status, age, sex, sexual orientation or disability.General Purpose: The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor is expected to provide preventive, referral and follow-up services to patients identified with need for Mental Health Care. This care includes counseling in mental health and substance abuse, as well as depression and other forms of behavioral issues. The BH Clinical Supervisor all provides direct clinical Supervision to BH Counselors.Description of Duties: •Provides diagnostic evaluations and psycho-social assessments to patients with defined mental health problems and who are at risk of or are currently abusing alcohol or drugs.•Assists patients and their families through individual, group and education conferences to understand, accept and follow treatment recommendations.•Refers patients and their families to specialized treatment programs in accordance with their needs; monitors and evaluates their progress.•Provides individual psychotherapy to a full caseload of patients for various mental health issues including individuals that require counseling, e.g. HIV/AIDS, Chemical Dependency.•Collaborates with the other department Directors to integrate care where needed•Maintains current and appropriate documentation in patient chart.•Provides Clinical supervision to BH Counselors in both individual and group settings as appropriate.•Reviews documentation and correspondence of BH Counselors.•Maintains BH Department At-Risk log.•Assists the Director of Behavioral Health in conducting in-service training for Cornerstone Family Healthcare medical staff on identifying and dealing with substance abuse, depression screening and other mental health illnesses.•Acts as a mandated reporter in suspected child abuse cases.•Provides updates to the Director of Behavioral Health on a monthly basis.•Attend and participate in monthly department, All Staff and other required meetings.•Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the Cornerstone Family Healthcare Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.•Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone Family Healthcare including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations.•Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Nursing, certified by New York State where applicable.LCSW is required.Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience preferred.
