We provide specialized medical care for each of our campers, while also supporting their mental, emotional, and social health. The Behavioral Health Manager will focus on the impact camp has on healing the whole child and will provide direct psychosocial care to our campers. The Behavioral Health Manager will collaborate with the Medical Advisory Committee members, Camp Program & Medical Teams to support the dynamic needs of our campers. RequirementsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSGeneral Responsibilities:
- Be a leader in the development and expansion of camp based psychosocial care programs supporting our strategic plan, mission and vision.
- Build and strengthen relationships with hospital champions and behavioral health professionals.
- Attend Medical Advisory Committee meetings with a focus on psychosocial health care and services for campers.
- Develop, lead, and provide behavioral health education opportunities to seasonal staff and volunteers, as well as identify professional development opportunities for full time employees as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Nursing & Medical Operations Director, Medical Director, and MAC to identify new psychosocial diagnosis groups, and develop and expand camp programs to best support and ensure the health and wellness of all campers.
- In collaboration with the Camp Director, Asst. Camp Director - Cabin Life, support development and delivery of an adaptive, therapeutic camp experience to campers through all Roundup River Ranch programs including on-site, off-site and online.
- Maintain an active outside clinical practice of approximately 3-5 patient hours per week (excluding summer camp months mid-May through early August) to ensure engaged and connected care status (e.g., Mountain Strong contract provider).
Job Responsibilities - Summer Camp
- Observe, assess, track, and support the psychosocial diagnosis(s) and/or needs of campers.
- Provide behavioral health support for campers as needed and lead staff in their education and implementation of behavior support.
- As requested by the Asst. Camp Director - Cabin Life, support the management of seasonal Camper Well-Being staff member(s), including verification of educational credit if applicable (e.g., intern experiences).
- Prior to arrival at camp, communicate with campers' referring physicians, medical providers, counselors/therapists, and parents/guardians to ensure program preparedness; identify, plan and communicate specific support needs with all relevant team members.
- Serve as a resource for summer staff and volunteers in supporting campers in the areas of behavior support, communication, and mental health.
- Provide opportunities to debrief difficult situations, provide pro-active support in the area of vicarious trauma.
- Serve as an advocate for campers and liaison for behavioral support opportunities with the cabin life and medical teams while camp is in session.
- Support staff with wellness and education opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities - Family Camp
- Support Family Camp programming as directed by the Nursing & Medical Operations Director.
Job Responsibilities - Administrative
- Review of camper applications and be an active participant in admission decisions ensuring proper care and support can be provided to each enrolled camper.
- Partner with Camp Team in gathering data for the end of session and end of season reporting and program success measures.
- Follow camp standards of confidentiality regarding camper and staff medical records.
- Work with staff to ensure emotionally safe programming and residential experience for campers.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- LSW/LCSW or certification accepted by the State of Colorado (or ability to obtain prior to camp start).
- Certified behavioral health professional with prior pediatric behavioral health experience.
- Current CPR/AED/BLS recommended.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are 2 years post-graduation of Masters in Social Work program with the ability to supervise behavioral health seasonal staff seeking educational internship credit.
- Prior management experience
- Background knowledge preferred in trauma-informed practice, behavior management practices, common key childhood behavior mental health disorders, and skill in treatment and intervention strategies.
- Experience in a camp, school, or child development setting is a plus
SPECIAL CONDITIONSThis is a full-time, year-round position with significant onsite and in-person demands while camp is in session. Throughout the in-person camp season from April through October, in addition to daily responsibilities, this position may be assigned 'on-call' shifts at the campsite in Gypsum, Colorado. 'On-call' shifts require the staff member be available by phone at all times throughout the assigned 'on-call' shift, which may include overnight periods. The 'on-call' staff member is not required to be residential, overnight. Accommodation is available for staff who choose to stay overnight at camp during 'on-call' shifts. On-call staff may be required to return to camp to provide in-person assistance at short notice and should remain within a 60-minute commuting distance from Camp.
