Diakon Family Life Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral health services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, New Bloomfield, Lewisburg, Montoursville and Williamsport as well as within several public-school buildings. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addictions counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the assigned functions and supervisors including typing correspondence, filing, scheduling appointments, sorting departmental mail and transcribing meeting minutes and physician evaluations and insurance verifications.
- Maintains the record keeping and filing systems; categorizes, sorts, and files correspondence, forms, reports, and other documents; maintains records and files.
- Answers and places telephone calls; assists caller if possible or transfers calls to the proper individual; takes and delivers messages; greets and assist clients/visitors.
Education/Training: A high school diploma, or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum.Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions normally required.ADA: Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.Staff receive excellent training through a comprehensive paid general orientation including customer service training. We offer continuing training and education, provide the ability for career advancement, and host staff appreciation and special events. Diakon also maintains a discretionary emergency fund, which can be of assistance to staff members during critical times.
