Position Title: Benefit Operations Analyst/Manager – Patient Affordability

Summary
The Benefit Operations Manager plays a crucial role in serving as a key liaison between our company, pharmacy processing partners, and medical benefit processing partners. This position's role is to optimize the benefit operations team and ensure efficient management of patient affordability programs on behalf of pharmaceutical companies. This position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of benefit operations processes.
Essential Functions
Strategic Planning and Process Optimization
Write and refine business requirements for new patient affordability programs
Update existing programs with business rule changes as needed
Maintain and optimize program turnaround times and timelines
Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency
Identify areas for improvement in benefit operations processes
Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce turnaround times
Collaborate with IT to optimize platform interactions and system integrations
Partner and Client Relations
Maintain relationships with pharmacy processing partners and medical benefit processing partners
Serve as the escalation point for complex issues or high-priority client requests
Participate in client meetings to provide expert consultation on program design and implementation
Program Oversight
Monitor the development and maintenance of patient affordability programs
Ensure compliance with business requirements and industry regulations
Oversee the implementation of business rule changes across programs
Review and approve major program updates or new program launches
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Account Management, IT and other departments to ensure alignment of benefit operations with overall business objectives
Participate in cross-functional projects to improve company-wide processes and systems
Act as a subject matter expert on benefit operations for internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field;
3-5+ years of experience in healthcare benefits, pharmacy benefit management, or related area
Comprehensive understanding of patient affordability programs and pharmaceutical industry dynamics
Strong leadership skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Skills
Technical Proficiency: Strong aptitude for learning and working with various software platforms and data analysis tools, especially excel
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to maintaining accuracy in program rules and operations
Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture and develop long-term solutions
Relationship Management: Skilled at building and maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
