Job Summary:

The benefits specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) plan and the flexible spending account.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in ADP Workforce Now and Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Follows-up with new-hire enrollments.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues, or any benefits related issue.
  • Works closely with our broker during open enrollment and ensuring compliance (SAR, Medicare Part D Creditable Notice, Cobra notifications etc.)
  • Processes life event changes in ADP and any benefits terminations.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on benefit related topics.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities. Ensure compliance with leave laws.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process, communications, and prepares any reports on data extended from ADP database.
  • Assist / Lead Wellness initiatives Programs (i.e. Benefit Fairs, Flu Clinic, Biometric Screenings, EAP).
  • Reconciles benefits invoices on a monthly basis.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Required:

  • Associate's degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
  • Experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
  • ADP Workforce Now experience a plus
