Overview

Serves as a member of the Human Resources team by providing information and service to employees,managers and external customers. Acts as benefits lead on projects including implementation a newbenefits, benefit changes, new carriers or partners, and onboarding new groups to our benefits and intoLawson, Assists in coordinating all aspects of the Huntsville Hospital benefits program, to includeconducting new employee orientation and other informational education sessions, processing employeebenefit changes and supporting a variety of employee recognition programs and events. Counsels withand advises employees on eligibility, provisions and other matters related to benefits in such as thehealth, dental, vision, 401(k) and 457(b) plans, group life insurance plan and the long term and short termdisability plans. Creates and assists in the preparation of employee benefit booklets and other employeebenefit communications such as monthly articles, flyers, etc. Responsible for new hire and miscellaneousbenefit data entry. Assists in answering benefits department and front desk telephones. Serves as backup support to the front desk as needed.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor degree preferred from an accredited university or college, preferably in Human Resources, Business Management, or Marketing/Public Relations.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years Human Resources experience working with or administering employee benefit plans. Marketing/Public Relations, public speaking, business writing or event planning experience preferred. Comparable education and experience will be considered.

Additional Skills/Abilities Must be able and willing to win a stressful, fast paced environment. Must be creative and very detailed with the ability to effectively communicate with employees andmanagers regarding sensitive and often complicated issues. Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment and changing priorities, and managecompeting demands in a professional manner. Excellent oral presentation skills required Must be able to set priorities, coordinate and organize multiple tasks and maintain control of largeworkflow. Must be able to plan events, write articles, and create detailed communication materials. Must be proficient in routine mathematical computations and analyses. The ability to read, comprehend and prepare moderately complex written material, such asgovernment regulations or policies and procedures is required. Must be able to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgement Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, word processing, data entry, spreadsheetsoftware, PowerPoint, and email.
