Job Summary
This role will be responsible for the oversight and administration of all benefits and retirement programs as well as support the Human Resources team in areas of new hire onboarding, benefits, payroll, and other departmental processes and initiatives. This position reports to the Manager, Payroll and Benefits.
Primary Responsibilities
- Must have expert knowledge and understanding of benefits plans to exercise independent judgment and discretion when serving as the primary point of contact for all employee benefits questions; providing prompt, accurate and helpful service
- Educate employees on the company's comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, and other voluntary benefits as well as available internal resources.
- Conduct annual open enrollment process, including communication, plan comparisons and enrollment support.
- Conduct new hire benefits orientation sessions and assist employees with benefits enrollment
- Coordinate Qualifying Life Event documentation and enrollment
- Reconcile all benefits invoices against enrollment and benefit deductions
- Partner with absence management to coordinate direct billing for benefit premiums
- Manage HRIS, carrier, and other file feeds to ensure information accuracy and compliance
- Partner with payroll and conduct weekly reporting to audit benefit changes, including retro deductions, payments and refunds
- Support Total Rewards Lead with COBRA/ACA and other applicable legal compliance
- Provide counsel to HR Business Partners, Managers, and Talent Acquisition Specialists regarding benefit-related inquiries
- Partner with the Health & Well-Being team to support and drive utilization in ComPsych's Employee Well-Being Program
- Manage Benefits mailbox and responding in a timely manner
- Support the Manager, Payroll and Benefits with long term projects related to benefits and compensation
- Perform quality checks of benefits-related data
- Provide back-up assistance to HR colleagues as needed
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and international regulations regarding employee benefits
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and other benefit vendors to resolve claims issues
- Prepare necessary reports for internal stakeholders, as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 3-5 years of payroll/benefits administration experience required
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required (including vlookup, pivots, and macros)
- Strong sense of urgency, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Customer service mindset
- Familiarity with government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Worker's Compensation, and other applicable Labor and/or tax laws and regulations
- Experience with ADP, Wex and Benefitfocus preferred
- Research and analytical skills

- Must have high-speed internet and workspace free from distraction, disruption or noise
- Ability to be on camera when attending work related trainings, meetings and/or events
- Must be able to sit or stand at desk for prolonged periods of time while working on a computer
