ObjectivesIndividual is responsible for coordinating and administering the County's Benefits and Wellness Program activities, answering related questions, coordinating with carriers, ensuring compliance, and preparing reports. Individual reports to the Deputy County Administrator / Director of Administrative Services.Job StandardsBachelor's Degree in Benefits Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related field combined with four (4) years related work experience. Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on County business at all times. All licenses and certifications must be maintained as a continued condition of employment.Essential FunctionsCoordinates, oversees, and maintains the County's Benefits and Wellness programming, including but not limited to overseeing enrollments, recommending programs, overseeing budgets, identifying resources, communicating initiatives, and ensuring program compliance;Administers various employee benefits programs, to include but not limited to group health, flexible spending accounts, dental, vision, accident, disability, life insurance, and wellness benefits;Coordinates benefits and wellness programs with carriers, researching and tracking accuracy and resolving problems;Tracks, maintains and ensures compliance of the Affordable Care Act;Prepares and conducts annual benefits open enrollment process;Assists employees with benefits enrollments and wellness options, answers questions, and ensures an understanding of program options;Verifies the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs;Budgets wellness grant dollars and maintains and responds to grant reporting requirements;Provides information and assistance for employee benefits, and wellness program compliance to the public and County employees and their dependents;Demonstrates a genuine interest in health and wellness and communicating with employees on program benefits and problem resolution;Schedules and conducts employee benefits orientation and completes and transmits all enrollment data to insurance administrators accurately and timely;Plans, coordinates and oversees benefits and wellness activities including health and service fairs, and other events as necessary;Assists in the preparation of the annual budget for the Benefits and Wellness Programs;Supports Benefits and Wellness programs by working with local agencies to include monitoring contracts, traveling to and attending meetings, conferences, workshops, training sessions, and performing a variety of public relations duties;Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance;Performs typing, word processing, and related computer operations;Works outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required;Devises correspondence, completing forms, and developing reports associated with benefits and wellness programming;Stays up-to-date on state and federal regulations concerning insurance and other employee benefits;Handles client complaints and public inquiries regarding programs;Prepares monthly reports; andOther duties as assigned.Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V
