The required information is listed below in the job posting.You must complete all requiredportions of the application and attach the required documents in order to be considered for employment.DepartmentOPH-Bureau of Engineering ServicesJob SummaryJob Description* Works within the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Bureau of Engineering Services (BES) to plan, schedule and perform water sample collection for drinking water contaminants at public water systems (sources, treatment facilities, and distribution systems) located throughout multiple parishes in the LDH Region 2 area* Conducts water sample collection and field measurements of residual chlorine concentration, and other water quality parameters in accordance with standard operating procedures.* Tracks, schedules, and conducts re-sampling of incomplete analysis reports and follow-up compliance or investigative sampling for maximum contaminant level detections and/or water complaints within required timeframe.* Coordinates and schedules sample collections with the public water systems and sample analyses with the certified laboratories.* Performs water sample pre-logging and meta data entry (field data) in the laboratory information management system (StarLIMS), and confirms sample result data migration in the safe drinking water information database (SDWIS).* Performs/updates public water system water sampling point of collection inventory information in SDWIS.* Provides technical assistance in planning and location of point of collection taps for routine or investigative monitoring purposes.* Provides technical assistance to public water systems by interpreting and explaining routine chemical and bacteriological monitoring results after consultation with Central Office and/or Regional Safe Drinking Water program staff if necessary.* Assists with emergency response sampling activities as needed.* Other tasks as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:* Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.* Minimum 2 years professional experience performing water sample collection.* Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills.* Great attention to detail and follow up.* Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.* Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.* Must possess and maintain a valid Louisiana driver's license and be able to drive a vehicle to perform duties.DESIRED:* Advanced degree.* Bachelor's degree in health sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, or related field.* Minimum 3 years professional experience performing water sample collection.* Minimum 1 year professional experience with reporting or data analysis.* Relevant industry certifications.Required AttachmentsPlease upload the following documents in the Resume/Cover Letter section.* Detailed resume listing relevant qualifications and experience;* Cover Letter indicating why you are a good fit for the position and University of Louisiana Systems;* Names and contact information of three references;* Diversity Statement (required for all Faculty positions and any Staff position of Assistant Manager and higher).See Diversity Statement instructions by clicking this link: that do not include the required uploaded documents may not be considered.Posting Close DateThis position will remain open until filled.Note to Applicant:Applicants should fully describe their qualifications and experience with specific reference to each of the minimum and preferred qualifications in their cover letter.
