The battery storage industry is experiencing significant growth across North America and Latin America, with a strategic focus on securing a leading position in the market. Factors driving this growth include decreasing lithium-ion battery prices, increased solar PV installations, and the rise of electric vehicle adoption.

In your role as a Service Engineer/Technician, you will play a vital part in achieving ambitious growth goals by designing, implementing, and managing an exceptional after-sales service. You will be responsible for overseeing the after-sales activities related to the Battery Energy Storage Systems installed in the region. Reporting directly to the Head of Service Americas, your responsibilities will include managing operations and maintenance tasks with a customer-centric and results-oriented approach, ensuring the success of key clients in the area.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on-site, including electrical and minor mechanical tasks, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • When necessary, oversee and coordinate third-party O&M contractors and/or suppliers in carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on-site, ensuring adherence to agreed responsibilities and applicable standards.
  • Monitor and supervise energy plants remotely to guarantee optimal system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Support the commissioning team on-site as required.
  • Provide immediate remote and on-site assistance to clients in case of equipment failure, ensuring system functionality is quickly restored.
  • Address technical questions and concerns from clients as needed.
  • Assist the Head of Service Americas in managing client relationships and ensuring plant performance aligns with contractual requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues through plant HMI, data analysis, and PLC code diagnostics.
  • Contribute to service process and procedure enhancements by sharing valuable feedback from field experiences.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, performance data, and system interventions in accordance with company and client standards.
  • Participate in specialized training courses, both locally and internationally, as necessary.
  • Ensure spare parts and consumables are available on-site, keeping track of usage and anticipating replenishment needs.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Energy/Electrical/Automation) or equivalent, or an electrician license or Electrical Technician Certificate.
  • Prior experience with electrical installation and panel building is preferred.
  • Experience working with Power Conversion Systems and Battery Storage is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SCADA and PLC control systems is preferred.
  • OSHA Training Certification.
  • 30-Hour NFPA 70E Training Course Certification.
  • CPR Training Certification.
