JOB SUMMARY: The Beverage Server at Caesars New Orleans Casino provides fast, friendly and courteous service to every guest, every time, while taking and serving cocktail orders.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides beverage service to casino guests in designated gaming areas.
  • Provides prompt, courteous beverage refreshment service to casino guests.
  • Presents the drink order to the bartender and writes the check properly while waiting for drinks to be made.
  • Presents the drinks to the guest, presents the check to the guest, accepts payment and gives change when necessary. Maintains a clean station at all times.
  • Maintains accountability for all complimentary charges and cash receipts where applicable.
  • Provides a great experience for every guest, every time, through courteous interaction.
  • Keeps informed of continually changing promotional beverages, events and services.
  • Acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Previous beverage experience preferred.
  • Previous experience dealing with the public preferred.
  • Must be able to present change correctly and have knowledge of guest charge procedures. Must be familiar with tray service and have knowledge of cocktail ingredients.
  • Mobility and dexterity to carry and serve a tray of beverages weighing 15 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and under stress as volume of business increases.
  • Must have mathematical ability including the ability to add and subtract.
  • Ability to stand and walk for periods of up to 4 hours.
  • Must have excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to constantly lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently reach above and below the shoulder.
  • Must be able to continuously and quickly maneuver around assigned areas for an entire shift.
  • Must have the dexterity to grip necessary items (glasses, pens, pads, garnishments, money, etc.). Must be able to stoop, bend and twist when serving cocktails.
  • Must be able to garnish drinks appropriately. Must be able to tolerate area containing secondary smoke.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
