SCOPE OF POSITIONThe Beverage Supervisor is responsible for managing the venue's oil activities for the beverage function. This position will be accountable for identifying, evaluating, and developing strategies to increase revenue and guest satisfaction with the beverage services provided at thevenue. The Beverage Supervisor must offer a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth operation of any assigned event.The Beverage Supervisor will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train, and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards and independently initiate and authorize all employment actions such as hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion, and transfer. The Beverage Supervisor will provide oversight and resolution responsibility for employee performance issues. The Beverage Supervisor will actively and independently manage all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following are major duties and are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.* Responsible for managing, developing, and mentoring staff full-time and part-time beverage employees, including initiating employment actions such as hiring, firing, and disciplining.* Ensures event staff and volunteers are aware of workplace expectations; provides ongoing assistance, training, and mentoring to event staff and volunteers; promotes a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative workplace environment by working side-by-side with staff and volunteers; reinforces procedures and practices through repetition; lead by example and provide on-going constructive feedback.* Provide direction and oversight to Floor Supervisors, Beverage servers, bartenders, and other staff. Ensure that all CNE and venue policies, procedures, and practices are adhered to, including compliance with alcohol service and food handling/ sanitation guidelines, general safety policies, and procedures. Report any alcohol service or other compliance issues to MOD or Food & Beverage Supervisor immediately.* Manage venue beverage inventory controls and drive the physical inventory process working closely with operators and accounting in reducing inventory costs, inventory analysis, and explanation of variances; monitor beverage costing and margins to ensure accuracy and consistency and assure optimum profitability is achieved and agreed upon costs are not exceeded.* Understand, improve, and maintain the beverage inventory control cycle from the purchase order creation to the sale of the merchandise; identify growth opportunities and risks in product assortment; and develop contingency plans.* Ensure all beverage product is accurately received, stocked, and organized for distribution.* Maintain responsibility for sales, expenses, and profit goals for beverage operating plans/ budgets while promoting the company's customer service and satisfaction goals, teamwork, reporting requirements, and financial performance.* Control the elements that determine profit and loss. Set margins and manage the business against projections while making decisions that relate to the P & L of the department.* Responsible for the management of all beverage operations before, during, and after the event. Duties may include (but are not limited to): verifying opening inventory, assigning duties to beverage workers (employee/volunteer), ensuring sanitation standards are met, verifying that each location is fully operational, POS monitoring and troubleshooting, guest complaint resolution, training, post-event evaluation, tracking of monetary and product shortages, generating reports and data compilation.* Willing to cover any open position to ensure the location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met; assist with Premium Services operations and event needs, as directed.* Ensure the work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination; immediately address all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents, or incidents. Relays safety/health issues to upper management immediately* Performs other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:The Beverage Supervisor must present with a professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to communicate with employees, co workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment. Ability to work on your feet for long periods and lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud during all hours. The environment is also smoke-filled. The workplace is also under constant surveillance both inside and outside the facility.ACKNOWLEDGMENTS:I have read this position description and certify that I can perform the duties and responsibilities, with or without an accommodation, and understand and accept the physical and environmental demands.QualificationsEDUCATION ANDfOR EXPERIENCE:* Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume fine dining, casual, and/or nightclub is preferred.* High school diploma and four (4) years of food service supervisory experience.* In-depth wine and alcohol knowledge is preferred.* Must acquire and maintain a valid Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Suspicious Activity and other required compliance training.
