Although this is not an approved position, we are accepting applications for this future and anticipated need.As a Spanish Bilingual Facility Driver, you will be responsible for driving the assigned vehicle with Sanctuary Facility guests for families with children / infants to approved appointments, shelter facility transfers, and airport trips as directed by the Program Director of a temporary on-site city sanctuary facility and in support of logistical requirements. Responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transportation of employees and guests.Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facility Driver: $22.00 to $23/hrly.
- Pay commensurate with experience.

Facility Driver Responsibilities Include:
- Assists during transition and movement of families from one activity to the next and one physical location to another, including transportation to and from the airport and offsite appointments.
- When not driving, provides support to the Residential Aides, logistical support, and mealtime distribution.
- Interacts with guest families in an appropriate manner while driving and provides a safe environment, to include the proper use of approved child safety seats.
- Maintains control of passengers conduct and ensure safety of passengers while in route.
- Assists families with loading and unloading as needed (to include luggage and any personal items).
- Always maintain confidentiality of guest families and facility operations, both on and off work (i.e. no social media postings).
- Keeps regular communication with the facility and assigned supervisor during transportation of employees and/or guest families.
- Completes all required documentation pertaining to this position in a timely manner, which may include daily reports, shift briefings, and management updates including gas receipts, vehicle logs and all other approved vehicle expenses to supervisor for timely reconciliation.
- Reports any delays, breakdowns, emergencies while on duty, including moving, parking, traffic violations, and accidents, immediately to the supervisor or designee.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections according to established protocols, encompassing but not limited to: Assessment for damages, tire condition evaluation, verification of oil levels (oil changes), windshield integrity check, verification of all lights' operations, document all inspection findings accurately and comprehensively in designated checklists and fuel logs, and ensuring adherence to established formats and procedures.
- Promptly report any identified issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution and corrective action, Site Director.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure all vehicles are inspected and maintained in a timely manner.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Facility Driver Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous driving experience is required. Must have good driving record.
- Spanish/English bilingual fluency required, and additional languages preferred include French, Haitian Creole, Wolof, Pular, Fulah and other western African dialects.
- Must be able to receive and understand detailed information through oral communication.
- Maintains knowledge of state and federal driving laws as well as licensing requirements to transport passengers.
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Work will primarily be performed in Shuttle Van.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols
- You must have a commercial driver license (CDL) with the passenger PP endorsement if you plan to drive a vehicle: Designed to transport 15 or more adult passengers (excluding the driver), defined as a bus under Article 19-A Section 509(a) or the NYS vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) or, with a gross vehicle weight or gross vehicle weight rating of more than 26,000 pounds.
- Past applicable job experience may include but is not limited to: Bilingual Facility Transportation Drive, or Multilingual Facility Chauffeur.
