Job OpportunitiesThe Mid-Ohio Water and Sewer District is a regional water and sewer provider established as an O.R.C 6119 entity. Mid-Ohio provides water and sewer services throughout Madison County and includes the operation of 6 wastewater treatment plants and 5 water treatment facilities. The Mid-Ohio Water and Sewer District is a rapidly expanding water and sewer district which provides services to over 25,000 local residents.Mid-Ohio has opportunities for experienced, highly motivated individuals to join our team and be part of this fast-growing District. Due to our rapid growth and expansion of services, the District currently has an opening for the Billing Clerk position. This position is responsible for customer service, water sales, collections functions, payroll, and managing accounts payable and receivable. The Billing Clerk ensures the maintenance of customer relations at an effective level while handling customer inquiries and problems related to billing, meter reading, service contracts, revenue collection, and inspections. The Billing Clerk oversees the Districts' call-out system, facilitating timely and efficient responses to customer calls. This position works closely with the Operations Supervisor and Field Supervisor to ensure the completion and assignment of orders and ensures compliance with backflow regulations, including tracking and documentation. The Billing Clerk will also obtain certification as a notary to assist with the signing of construction and customer easements and perform all other duties as assigned by the District.The Mid-Ohio Water and Sewer District offers competitive wages and excellent employee benefits. The Billing Clerk is responsible for ensuring timely and efficient response to customer inquiries and problems related to billing and service, overseeing the Districts' call-out system, and managing payroll processes. The role also includes collaboration with the Operations and Field Supervisors to ensure compliance with backflow regulations and the completion of assigned orders.Examples of Work:Handle customer service inquiries and problems related to billing, meter reading, service contracts, revenue collection, and inspections.Oversee the Districts' call-out system to ensure timely and efficient response to customer calls.Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor and Field Supervisor to ensure orders are completed and assigned.Ensure compliance with backflow regulations, including tracking and documentation.Manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Obtain certification as a notary to assist with signing construction and customer easements.Perform other duties as assigned by the District.Personal Requirements:Physically fit and capable of working methodically and accurately.Self-motivated and self-disciplined.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.Notary certification or willingness to obtain certification.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of customer service practices, billing processes, and payroll management.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.Ability to use basic office equipment and software.Minimum Qualifications:High school graduate or equivalent.Previous experience in customer service, billing, payroll, or a related field.Notary certification or willingness to obtain certification.Pay: Pay is competitive and based on experience and value to the District. Benefits include company paid health insurance, OPERS (Ohio Public Employees Retirement System), paid holidays, and up to two weeks paid vacation.Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00 per hourSchedule: Monday-Thursday 0600-1500 or Tuesday-Friday 0600-1500, will be set by Accounting OfficerWork Location: Madison County, OhioWork Conditions: Work is performed primarily in an office environment with regular interaction with customers and staff.
