Job Description :
The Billing Clerk position is responsible for ensuring proper and timely payment to aid in securing the organization's revenue and assist in cash flow projection. The Billing Clerk will submit and track insurance claims, Medicaid claims, residential billing, USDA remittance and clothing vouchers. The position requires a high attention to detail and trustworthiness.This position demonstrates commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the agency by engaging in respectful, cooperative relationships with clients, coworkers, and external stakeholders; being accountable for providing services and ensuring safety to clients with empowering clients in achieving the agency's mission.The Billing Clerk will be supervised by the Executive Director.Responsibilities:
Maintain current and relevant knowledge pertaining to residential billing, insurance billing, and Medicaid billing practices and regulationsPrepares and submits all Show-Me Healthy kids, Medicaid, and private insurance billing as receivedOversees USDA implementation and remittance to include documentation and necessary paperworkPrepares and submits residential billing to various vendorsProfessionally perform various collection actions including contacting vendors for explanation of abnormal or lack of receipt of paymentsKeep Executive Director and Program Director notified of clinical billingFollow guidelines set forth by the employee handbook, accounting policies and procedures handbook, investment policy and gift processing procedure instructionsTrack organization's income to provide thorough reports on billing activity with clear and accurate data for quarterly meetings and annual budget preparationMaintains strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulationsAny additional duties assigned by the Associate or Executive DirectorQualificationsMinimum age of 21 yearsHigh School Diploma or GEDAccounting or billing experienceNo criminal background or history of abuse to a childHigh attention to detail and trustworthinessAbility to demonstrate caring, tolerance, and patience when dealing with troubled youthAbility to demonstrate understanding of philosophy, policies and procedures, and programs of Missouri Girls TownAbility to be on time and dependableAbility to work independent with little supervision
