Alleviant Integrated Mental Health is the largest full-service, multi-site outpatient psychiatry practice in Arkansas. In fact, we will see more than 70,000 Arkansans this year. We have become the primary referral source for many major systems in the state. We see all new patients within five days of connecting with them and provide integrative psychiatric care with longer appointment times that allow our providers time to work through the disorder and collaborate with our referral sources.We are looking for a Billing/Insurance Account Specialist at Alleviant Integrated Mental Health to take on responsibility for our claims and assist patients with questions on their accounts at Alleviant Health Centers.You should be able to deal with complaints and give accurate information. A patient-oriented approach is essential. should provide professional and friendly service to our patients.Essential Job Functions
  • Insurance payor medical billing
  • EOB/ERA knowledge
  • Claims knowledge
  • Claims corrections
  • Claims resubmissions
  • Calling insurance payors and researching denials
  • Calling insurance companies and getting status on claims not paid
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Answer patient account questions
  • Resolve any issues relating to the patient account
  • Answer any questions patients may have about their account
  • Assist patients with terms for repayment structures
  • Negotiate any overdue balance to recover payment from patients
  • Explain insurance benefits to patients
  • Process denials
  • Answer and return high-volume inbound calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Take patient insurance information and process payments correctly.
  • Developed personal organization and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintained strictest confidentiality; adhered to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
  • Organize and prioritize all work to ensure that all clients are handled in a professional manner
  • Provided support to other staff, as necessary.
  • Maintained a polite and professional telephone manner.
  • Conduct follow up calls on patients according to policy and procedure
  • Coordinate with physicians and medical groups.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires ability to work under stressful situations demanding high concentration and energy level.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • High School Diploma required (or equivalent).
  • Basic Understanding of mental health or behavioral health is a plus
  • Experience in a medical office setting required.
  • Insurance and patient benefits knowledge required.
  • Determining patient responsibility required.
  • Previous experience processing patient payments required.
  • Previous experience with claims required.
  • Understanding of HIPAA guidelines and policies
  • Understanding of documentation as it pertains to the healthcare industry
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of people
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Etc.) as well as an understanding of email and attachments. Strong typing and computer application skills. Able to operate computer, telephone, copier, fax, and other basic business machines.
Job Context Facility work hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm. Individual is expected to provide clients outstanding, satisfactory services. The atmosphere is positive, encouraging, and teamwork oriented.
