Billing/Patient Accounts Specialist IIHoward County Medical Center invites applications for the position of Billing/Patient Accounts Specialist II at its location in St. Paul, Nebraska. Job Duties:
  • Download claims from EMR into clearinghouse.
  • Prepare any claims that are incomplete in the clearinghouse for submission/resubmission.
  • Research, correct & reprocess payment denials as required.
  • Be the key account contact for questions and issues
  • Working with physicians and staff to obtain information required for initial claim submission and follow-up on edits, denials, and rejections.
  • Follow-up on outstanding claims.
  • Cross-Train within the department to ensure success and promote collaboration and teamwork.

  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to work with skill in identifying problems.
  • Ability to work with many types of people and have good customer service skills.
  • Ability to answer the phone and transfer phone calls to the appropriate people.

Education/Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior office experience preferred
