Description As the Billing Specialist you will be responsible for completing various assigned accounting and reconciliation tasks. You will also learn other essential functions of the accounting department under the guidance of the Division Controller.   • Reviews pre-bills to ensure proper completion including client, job name and that all required components have been included.
  • Creates final accounts receivable invoices, including the calculation of sales tax, ensuring accuracy of invoice.
  • Reviews final postage and postage deposits that have been applied and confirms that they match the postage chart and postal statements.
  • Updates management reports regularly, to include priority lists and amounts booked versus billed discrepancies for needed sales adjustments.
  • Assists with accounts receivable, accounts payable, job costing, purchase order and receiving functions as needed.
  • Completes review of costs versus sales and confirms accuracy before closing job.
  • Makes necessary adjustments and corrections as requested by client services representatives, clients or management.
Your Profile:
  • Three to five years of experience in accounting and billing (salary commensurate with experience).
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Cost Accounting Standards to assigned tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of computer software programs to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
  • Ability to compile, analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to reconcile complex accounts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong demonstrated proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
