Title: Billing Specialist
Location: Melville, NY
Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000
Responsibilities:
- Invoicing: Assisting in the creation and distribution of invoices to payers. This involves ensuring that invoices are accurate, include all necessary information, and are sent out in a timely manner.
- Billing Reconciliation: Assisting with end-of-month bill processing
- Billing Inquiries: Responding to client inquiries related to their bills, invoices, and statements. This may involve explaining charges, fees, and payment details.
- Payment Processing: Assisting clients with making payments, setting up payment plans, and addressing issues related to payment methods, such as credit card transactions or electronic funds transfers.
- Billing Disputes: Investigating and resolving billing disputes and discrepancies. This can include researching client accounts and working with other departments to rectify errors.
- Account Maintenance: Updating client account information, including address changes, contact details, and payment preferences.
- Communication: Communicating with clients via phone, email, or chat to address their concerns and provide timely and accurate information.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in healthcare, business, or related to field, Bachelors Degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience with healthcare billing/medical office required, preferably with HHAeXchange
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Excel. Experience with pivot tables preferred.
- Proficiency in using billing software systems specific to home care services, electronic health records (EHR), and other healthcare technology tools.
