Overview:
The Biomedical Equipment Technician I assists with the installing, calibrating, and testing of electronic equipment and systems. Working under close supervision, this role coordinates the performance of scheduled and corrective maintenance and acts as a resource for clinical personnel.Talent Pool: Corporate Services/Professional
Responsibilities: Supports maintenance inspections and procedures on clinical equipment to ensure safe operating conditions for patients and hospital staff. Helps with inspecting and maintaining equipment using tools such as voltmeters and PC-based diagnostic software to identify needed corrective behaviors. Documents corrective maintenance activities, work order time, and non-productive time to ensure accountability for work performance and labor utilization. Handles compliance with departmental standards for purchase order and parts management activities so work is in line with outside standards for safety. Coordinates the installation and acceptance testing of new equipment and special projects to prepare them for team utilization. Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.
