Position SummaryThe Biomedical Research Scientist will be responsible for performing biomedical and chemical experiments for the purpose of testing and quality control. Essential Responsibilities•Perform routing testing on samples under the supervision of a Senior Biomedical Scientist and/or Supervisor, i.e. track and meet testing deadlines, problem solve with team, notify supervisor of problems or unexpected results, record results•Perform laboratory studies using complex techniques including tissue culture (maintaining mammalian cells, growth assays and drug response assays), nucleic acid extraction, PCR analyses, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry and drug skin permeation.•Maintain clean, orderly and safe laboratory work area•Maintain familiarity on use of all applicable equipment, systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)•Provide assistance in all workstations as well as assist in back up support of all laboratory workstations as required•Collaborate or assist with supervisor and senior research staff with the preparation of reports•Comply with PCCA policies and all applicable SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Good Laboratory Procedures (cGLPs) and Quality Control guidelines•Assist with laboratory compliance and laboratory safety audits•Participate in team discussions and assist in achieving team goals•Assist with other duties special projects, as assignedQualifications•Required: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in biology or related science field•1-3 years of experience in scientific or experimental research work with Bachelor's degree. No experience required with Master's degree.•Entry level computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the InternetCertifications:•None
