Position Summary:
The BLOOM Program Director is an essential member of the BLOOM Project, a five-year grant-funded project that supports the training and certification of bilingual teachers, with a focus on preparing teacher candidates in Indigenous and heritage language communities. The BLOOM Program Director is responsible for managing the daily logistics and coordination of the BLOOM project, including developing and coordinating community-based learning initiatives with grant partners and Tribal communities, supporting BLOOM fellows to attain licensure and bilingual endorsements, managing budgets, and supporting program evaluation.
Job Description:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Manage daily logistics, deliverables and coordination of BLOOM project.
* Interface with and report to Principal Investigator.
* Coordinate development of culturally responsive and culturally integrated strategies.
* Implement Teacher Licensure and Bilingual Endorsement tracking in conjunction with Culturally Linguistically Diverse Education Coordinator.
* Manage / supervise Graduate Fellow.
* Implement BLOOM Fellow recruitment and enrollment process across multiple community and Tribal partners.
* Develop and coordinate Community-Based Learning initiatives with Tribal Elders and
* Heritage Community leaders.
* Collaborate within and across multiple departments, internal and external to Fort Lewis College.
* Manage annual distribution of Fellow stipends and BLOOM budget in coordination with an administrative assistant.
* Create and connect BLOOM Fellows with learning supports.
* Support evaluation / reporting / data collection with external evaluators in conjunction with Principal Investigator.
* Maintain knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.
* Produce and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:
* Master's degree in related field.
* Specialized knowledge of language pedagogy.
* Experience working in rural communities.
* A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
* Knowledge of technologies needed to implement remote collaboration and mentorship.
Preferred Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:
* Specialized knowledge of language revitalization in community and P-20 contexts
* Experience managing federal or other grant-funded programs.
* Experience managing budgets.
* Experience in community-based Learning initiatives with Tribal Elders and Heritage Community leaders.
* Experience teaching and/or supervising teacher candidates.
* Doctorate or equivalent professional expertise in Indigenous language and/or bilingual education.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $87,000, plus a
comprehensive benefits package.
