This position is a non-competitive Civil Service position.

NASSAU COUNTY Title : BODILY HYGIENE AIDE

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Toilets physically handicapped students; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

Under direct supervision, the duties involve the routine performance of manual tasks.

TYPICAL DUTIES 1. Uses hoist to lift students and place them on bidet; holds urine bottle. 2. Changes diapers of students. 3. Reports any problems observed to the supervisor.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to lift physically handicapped adolescents. 2. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. 3. Ability to relate to physically handicapped students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Training and Experience

Completion of eighth grade education.
