AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nations American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperatives award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.

+ This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.

+ Perform all duties related to boiler operation, maintenance, recordkeeping and ensuring that the boilers are running safe, efficient and working properly.

+ Perform preventative maintenance.

+ Keep chemical pumps in working order.

+ Responsible for the Ammonia compressors and the Ammonia system to attain the desired temperature from the refrigeration system.

+ Perform maintenance on the Ammonia Refrigeration system following standard operating and safety procedures.

+ Play an active role in the Emergency Response Team.

+ Communicate well between supervisor, other shifts and departments.

+ Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping.

+ Assist coworkers with tasks and duties that are within the department as assigned.

+ Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed.

+ Assists with training new employees.

+ Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.

+ Ensures safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures.

+ Assisting in process troubleshooting as needed, including being a technical resource as needed.

+ Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

+ Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

+ Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

+ Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

+ High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred.

+ Must have a valid Minnesota Boiler Operators license, 1st Class B or above.
