The 3 core values of our department are connection, compassion, and courage.This is an hourly position that will work 10-30 hours per week with no set hours are guaranteed to applicants. Weekly minimum time commitment of one 10-hour shift with maximum time commitment up to four shifts a week depending on the needs of the unit and the availability of the applicant. This position is intended to offer shift coverage and support for full-time employees. Applicants must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Office hours of operation are 5:30am-6:30pm on weekdays and 7:00am-6:30pm on weekends. This position will work at Boulder County Jail, 3200 Airport Rd., Boulder, Colorado.Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work. Hiring Salary Range: $24.04 - $33.95 Hourly Tentative Hiring Timeline:
  • First Round Interviews: February 11th
Examples of Duties
  • Screen and assess all eligible individuals brought to the Boulder County Jail.
  • Complete a thorough review of criminal history using multiple criminal justice databases.
  • Interview individuals using effective interpersonal skills (collaboration, empathy, active listening).
  • Complete standardized assessments using established guidelines and practices.
  • Determine eligibility of individuals to be released prior to seeing a judge.
  • Release low-risk individuals when appropriate with least restrictive bond conditions.
  • Submit reports to the court, making bond condition recommendations to the judge.
  • Staff cases with team members and supervisor.
  • Completed security certifications for databases as required.
  • Proved backup to team members.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies such as the District Attorneys, Public Defenders, community partners, judicial partners, jail staff and law enforcement.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and support CJS/Boulder County racial equity efforts.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one-year professional experience, either paid or volunteer, working directly with human services or criminal justice related role.
